Pet Photography Session Commonly Asked Questions
Q: I know that my dogs will never sit still for pictures. What do you do in this case?
A: No problem - not many pets come into the studio as professional models! Matter of fact, many pets do not have formal training at all.
Don't worry - that's our job! As Dayton Area Pet Photographers, our experience in animal training and photography provides us with the necessary pet education to work with them & achieve optimum photographic results.
And remember our guarantee: "If you are not thrilled with your images, you don't pay".

Q: Do you photograph horses? I’d like to have a portrait with my horse but I don’t think he’ll fit in your studio! Can you come out to my farm?
A: Most definitely - For the unfamiliar photographer, horses can be very tricky to photograph well. I have professionally trained horses & taught riding lessons for 19 years - I know horses inside and out. If there are other horse owners at your barn that would like to have a photography session the trip fee can be reduced. If you are interested in our “tranquil trail” portraits, you can trailer to our horse farm for your portrait creation. Enjoy riding the trails afterward!
Q: Are there any types of animals that you do not photograph?
A: If so, we haven't run across it yet! Our life has been devoted to animals - we love them all and welcome a challenge.
Q: I have 3 cats that I'd like to bring to your studio but they are not comfortable out of their own surroundings.
A: We will discuss their behavior in detail but most cats are not thrilled outside their comfort zone. We have a certain protocol that we follow at the studio which has brought us much success with cat personalities as you have described. We also recommend that for at least a week before your cat photography appointment you keep everything as routine as possible. Do not choose that time for vaccinations, micro chipping or a first time ride in the car. Bringing your cat in a pet carrier with a blanket from home gives him/her a safe and familiar retreat during breaks in their photography session if needed. We do provide a water dish and litter pan if nature calls.
Q: Should I get to the studio early so my pet can get acclimated to the new surroundings?
A: No - we allow time for that in your scheduled appointment. If you come early, it will disrupt the prior session. Being prompt will allow us the appropriate time to get great photographs of your pet.
