As the Ohio Chapter of the Friends of Helping Hands, our home has become home to Barney & Brittany- capuchin monkeys that are being prepared for a life of loving & helping someone with severe disabilities.
Helping Hands monkeys live with foster families learning socialization and early training until they are ready for “monkey college” at the Helping Hands facility in Boston, MA. It is there that they receive the specific training needed to become a perfectly matched companion helper for someone in need of such assistance.
As a 15 year volunteer for the program our life has never been quite like anyone else’s.
